Germany Schloss Schönborn Heusenstamm
Heusenstamm Castle or Schönborn Castle is located in Heusenstamm, Hesse. The present castle is divided into a rear and a front castle. The rear castle today consists of a residential building and a separate tower, the so-called Bannturm (Bann Tower). The Baroque -style front palace was built between 1663 and 1668 by Philipp Erwein von Schönborn on the former courtyard of the old castle. The palace is surrounded by a now-drained moat that was once fed by water from the Bieber River. The current Baroque garden was redesigned in recent times. The castle now houses the town hall.
