Germany Museum Küppersmühle
The museum „Küppersmühle“ (MKM Museum Küppersmühle für Moderne Kunst, ) was a former mill and silo and opened as a museum for modern art in 1999, designed by architects Herzog & De Meuron. Situated in the Duisburg Innenhafen (inner harbour) and with its 3,600 m² of exhibition space the museum presents one of the largest assortments of German after-war art.
Photography Tips
Under photographical aspects, the unique staircase made of red fair-faced concrete was interesting for me. With its ‘floating lines’ and its rough structure it gave a quasi-organical impression to me. Using a tripod is not allowed but at ISO 6,400 or with a lens- or sensor-stabilizer shots from the hand will lead to good results. Nearby is the Duisburg Harbour, the biggest inland port in Europe, worth it on a photo trip. It takes 15 minutes by car to reach the Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord.
