Germany U-434, Hamburg
The U-434 was one of the largest dieselelectric submarines ever built. If you enter it (for a small fee) you really get a feeling, what life on a vessel like this must have been like. Especially the crew bunks indicate how hard this must have been. Some of them are located right beneath the drive shaft. Must have been very noisy. But according to the guide, at least it was warm because every bunk was shared by three men who slept alternately.
