Germany Friedhof Platanenweg - Gypsy Graveyard
This graveyard contains among others as well graves of the Sinti and Roma families as graves of forced laborer of the Third Reich.
Outstanding are the opulent shrines of Sinti and Roma Gypsy families. These tombs testify the burial culture of the Sinti and Roma ethnic minority. The largest mausoleum is the last retreat of the Roma king Ferko Czori, who was buried in 1997 with the presence of more than 1000 guests. The stands on a fenced area of more than 100 square meters. The covered crypt carries a huge, partially gilded crown of black granite. A portrait shows the clan boss with wide-brimmed hat and coat. With his hat and cane, he is also immortalized in white marble: the artistically worked and surviving statue of Czoris stands behind the crypt and can hardly be overlooked.
