Germany Semperoper, Dresden
The city of Dresden has plenty of beautiful spots that are worth visiting (and worth taking photos of); it is in fact my favourite city in Germany. Semperoper is one of the classic tourist spots that everyone going to Dresden will probably visit. Right next to it are the Zwinger and Dresden Castle as well as the historic city centre.
Photography Tips
Photo opportunities abound here. Basically, there is no wrong time of day to visit this place – depending on the time of day (or night) you are here, different places will be in good light. The Semperoper front is best lit before afternoon.
The Northern bank of River Elbe is also worth visiting. There are great views across the river towards the Altstadt (best early in the morning and late in the afternoon) and the Neustadt is completely different, yet a great place as well.

Travel Information
It's best to not take a car into the city. Public transport is great – the tram system in particular – and a day (or multi-day) pass is well worth the money. The closest tram station is Theaterplatz.
