Germany Frauenkirche, Dresden
The city of Dresden has plenty of beautiful spots that are worth visiting (and worth taking photos of); it is in fact my favourite city in Germany. Frauenkirche is probably the most iconic building of the city and one of the classic tourist spots that everyone going to Dresden will probably visit. Many other good spots are in the historic city centre surrounding the church.
Photography Tips
Frauenkirche is a huge building. Hence, your best bet is a wide angle lens. Only from Neumarkt you will have enough distance towards the church to avoid strong perspective distortion. The light will probably be best in the afternoon. After sunset you will probably be joined by dozens of other photographers with huge tripods and expensive cameras.
Travel Information
It's best to not take a car into the city. Public transport is great – the tram system in particular – and a day (or multi-day) pass is well worth the money. The closest tram station is Altmarkt.
