Build between 1711 and 1718 by Lothar Franz von Schönborn, the Prince-Bishop of Bamberg and elector of Mainz.

Lothar Franz von Schönborn hired the best artist of his time. In the 300 years the castle wasn't harmed by any war.

In summer time (April until October) you can visit it every day. From November until March only weekdays.

Travel Information

By car: The castle ist close to the Autobahn A3. Leave the Autobahn at the exit Pommersfelden and follow the B505 direction Bamberg. Then have a look for the brown sign with Schloss Weißenstein.
