Germany Kranhäuser, Cologne
The Kranhäuser (engl. "crane houses") in the Rheinauhafen of Cologne are 3 pretty modern buildings, which where built in 2011 and look like an upside-down "L". They can add a lot to your photos, but in my opinion it's pretty difficult to capture them in a way they look good, because these buildings are interesting, but they are not extremely beautiful.
My favorite spot to shoot them is at Severinsbridge. I just love all these contrasts between yellow - blue, modern - old, clean - dirty etc. So this is maybe one of my most favorite spots in Cologne, which isn't that well known.

Photography Tips
To get that color contrast between the yellow stone wall and the sky you have to be there during the blue hour, which is just after sunset or before sunrise. The first option is maybe better if you want some lights in these buildings.
Additionally you have to pay attention on the traffic, because when a streetcar or heavy vehicles are passing the bridge is shaking, which could ruin your sharp results.

Travel Information
These is a big parking place beyond Severinsbridge, which is pretty cheap (4 € for a day) and you don't have to pay after 18 o'clock. You can also get there by train, because the streetcar is also using that bridge and holding nearby that spot.
