Greece Sunset on Amorgos old mills
The eleven windmills "crowning" like jewels the town of Amorgos at the top of the hill, had barely withstood the battle of time. In the old days, the locals came here to grind their wheat. Each one served twenty to twenty-five families. Imagine each one consists of at least six hundred hand made parts of wood. The master millers with the great know-how have all perished and there is no one to restore these beauties. There is no better ;place to enjoy sunset that from this point.
Photography Tips
This is an accessible open space that lends itself for stunning sunsets and the huge rocks make a wonderful foreground. A 24-70mm is just fine. The view over the town is breathtaken and if you decide to stay to dark, take a torch with you and a tripod. It is also a fabulous place for astrophotography if you take the right side of the hill where light pollution from the town will not hinder you.
Travel Information
