Poros Island is 1h away from Athens Pireas by ferry. The island is actually divided into 2 islands separated by a bridge( for pedestrians and cars). Poros Town with its port is on the small island called Spheria. The beautiful beaches Love Bay or Anasa are outside the town. On summer days I recommend renting a car or an ATV.
Poros also can be reached by car, to Galata Town, that is across the water, then by ferry(10min). If travelling by car, I recommend visiting Nafplion Town, the first modern capital city in Greece. It is a lovely place and you won't regret it.
