Vestrahorn is a popular spot for photographers and has many locations and variations to photograph it. If you are lucky to get a great sunset it looks amazing and has lots of texture.

Photography Tips

You need a ticket to enter through the gates which you can get from a machine with credit card payments. Otherwise, you can purchase from the Viking Cafe opening the day.

Wait for the light to hit the black dunes and capture the shadows. If you like the reflection Vestrahorn then be on the beach.

Travel Information

About 20 mins from Hofn turn right and then turn right just before the tunnel through the mountain. Go along a dirt road and you will hit the Viking Cafe. Travelling through the gates and anywhere along there is great.
