Iceland Walking along the east Jökulsárlón glacier
There is a walk along the east side of the glacier. You need to get a glacier guide to safely go onto the glacier.
Photography Tips
Telephoto such as 70-200 is the best way to isolate part of the glacier (rather a flat view otherwise).
Many timing could be good but sunrise and sunset (and the beginning of blue hour) are the best.
You may still be happy to have a long focal such as 300mm or more as you can encounter some reindeer on the way (see a photo of the spot taken with 300mm).

Travel Information
You need a guide that you can easily find in the Jökulsárlón glacier visitor centre and who will drive you to the beginning of the path and then walk with you ensuring your safety.
