Barnafossar is a really nice but less known waterfall near the much better known Hraunfossar waterfall in the western part of Iceland. Translated the name means something like "children's waterfall". Both waterfalls belong to the river called Hvítá near the village of Húsafell.

Travel Information

There is a parking space right in front of the waterfalls with a restaurant/cafe. Walking is only around 3-5 minutes depending on which perspective you want to get on the waterfall.

I just updated the geo-position for this waterfall, because it was way off the real position. Thank you Toon for reporting this issue. I also added some details and translated the info that Winfried did add already in the German language.
