Iceland Múlagljúruf Canyon
Múlagljúruf (with the two falls Hangandifoss and Mulafoss), is an incredibly beautiful canyon and the whole area is still quite uncovered, which is quite strange considering, that we are in South Iceland. Yes, even here, in one of the most tourists polluted areas in the world, you can enjoy such beauty in privacy.
Travel Information
Múlagljúruf Canyon (with the two falls Hangandifoss and Mulafoss) is located about 5 kilometres west form Fjallsárlón. Turn off the Ring Road, park here (GPS: 63.992971, -16.435808) and follow an easy trail to go up to the waterfall for about 2 kilometres (45mn to reach the point). There is a creek you can easily cross.
There is absolutely no sign indicating this canyon, the Icelandic authorities wanted to preserve the place of mass tourism. It was for me one of the best memories of Iceland.
