A beautiful black beach made of sand and pebblestones directly under the Snæfellsjökull glacier, which gives to the place an unique contrast.

There are a British trawler Epine GY7 remains that wrecked here on the beach at night on 13 march 1948.

Travel Information

At the very west end of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, West Iceland. There is quite a huge parking lot with toilets nearby, then the Djúpalónssandur beach is just 5 minuts away.
