One of the colorful rivers leads into the ocean in the South of Iceland. The colors come from sediment, which does not mix with the rest of the water.

Photography Tips

A drone is required, and best to come during the day to capture more light and colors. It might be good to have an ND and polarization filter to improve the image quality. Be aware that you must fly pretty far out of sight and be aware of other aircraft flying around.

Travel Information

You can park your car along the closest gravel road. From here you could possibly walk towards the beach but it will be hard to see any of the color from the ground. Make sure to not block the road when parking your car. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
