This glacier lagoon is not as popular as Jökusarlon but in my opinion, the nicer one to visit. You will have less ice in the lake but the glacier is much closer. It's a nice spot to walk around and enjoy the epic views!

Photography Tips

I brought my drone to get a closer look at the floating icebergs and the glacier itself. Be aware of the National park and the no-fly zone which starts pretty much in the middle of the lake. Come here for sunrise to avoid crowds and to get this beautiful morning glow.

Travel Information

You can park at the designated parking area and walk up the small hill for the best view over the lagoon and the glacier. They also have a restaurant and offer boat tours if you want to spend a lot of money. Alternatively, you bring your snacks and just sit down on some rocks to enjoy the scenery.
