This spot is probably best to "visit" with your drone since the crater isn't too huge, and it's easier to make it visible from the air in your photos. I also don't know about a hiking trail out to the location.

Photography Tips

I used my drone to capture the morning sun and the volcanic crater. I assume all seasons are nice to visit but it might be hard to spot the vulcano in winter with fresh snow.

Travel Information

You can park your car at the marked parking lot. The road is a bit bumpy but manageable for most vehicles. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
