This beautiful snake road is located in the East of Iceland, where you drive close to the ocean and the mountains, creating this unique scenery. People who don't drive the full circle around Iceland might not come here but the drive is really beautiful and worth it if you have the time!

Photography Tips

I used my drone to compress the mountains in the background and give a better view of where this road is leading you! You can probably stop your car and fly the drone at a different angle every hundred meters. Just make sure not to interrupt any traffic while flying.

Travel Information

You can park your car at the marked parking lot. The road is in excellent condition and driveable for any vehicle. The entire drive along the East Coast is very scenic, and you can stop every few minutes to take photos. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
