Iceland Two geothermal pools in Icelandic Highlands [drone]
The hot springs in the highlands are less known and visited due to the remote location than other hot springs in Iceland. You can walk around on a wooden boardwalk to be safe and not destroy any fragile geothermal area.
Photography Tips
I used my drone to get an excellent perspective of the hot springs from the air. Be aware not to interrupt other visitors since you fly low to capture the small pools. Best to come early in the morning before other visitors arrive.
Travel Information
You need a 4x4 car to get to this location since you must drive several dozen kilometers on a gravel road (F35) in the Icelandic highlands toward the Hot Springs. When traveling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information since road conditions can change fast. The road is not accesable during winter.
