Iceland Stapavík beach, Iceland
This location can easily be missed when driving along the East Coast of Iceland, but it is a must-stop! Have a break here and go down to the beach (a bit of easy climbing involved) but stay away from the shore since the waves can be dangerous. The easiest way to get down is between the parking lot and the viewpoint. The drop is lower and tilted to walk down very carefully and jump the last half meter down to the beach.
Photography Tips
I tried to capture the incoming waves hitting the beach for my composition. Be aware of the stong current, and don't get too close to the water. I always took a photo and backed it up for safety reasons. It took me a few tries to get the shot with my wide-angle lens.
