Iceland Puffins at Dyrhólaey Lighthouse
The Dyrhólaey Lighthouse is famous for the lighthouse, but you can also see puffins here in the summertime. It is not the most excellent location to see them since the cliffs are very steep, and you are pretty through nature protection measurements. But coming here on a lovely summer evening for sunset, the chances to see puffins are pretty good. Just make sure to stay on the marked trails.
Photography Tips
You should bring a tele zoom lens to capture the puffins at this location since they are usually only down at the cliff and don't come too close to the marked trails like other sites in Iceland.
Travel Information
Plenty of parking at the top car park, which has been renewed and is finally not a gravel road and parking lot anymore. In the summer of 2023, it was free of charge. From here, it's a few minutes walk to the lighthouse and the location. I would also suggest checking www.safetravel.is when traveling in Iceland since weather and road conditions can change quickly.
