Iceland Reynisfjara Beach
Vik's famous black sand beach is well known and frequently visited by many tourists. Be aware of strong currents and huge waves, and don't go too close to the shore since people sadly have lost their lives here because of that. They have a sign with different stages of wave intensity and areas you are not allowed to enter when a colour code is displayed. For your safety: Respect it.
Photography Tips
Due to its popularity, it is hard to get to this beach at an empty moment. Using a drone is an excellent way to avoid crowds in your images, or at least it is a lot easier to remove people from the photos of your drone. Be aware of strong winds and a crazy amount of seagulls flying around!
Travel Information
I parked at the marked parking lot, which is free of charge. The road is in good condition, but the parking lot is a bit bumpy and just gravel. Be aware of that when coming here. When travelling in Iceland, it is always nice to check www.safetravel.is for travel information.
