This Hot Spring pool is located in the South of Iceland, and most people would pass it when they have to leave the ring route to get there. I visited a few years ago, and you were all alone, even during the day. It might have changed, and you may want to come here late or early!

Photography Tips

I asked a friend to take a photo of me jumping into the pool to give the scene some action and a sense of scale. We used a wide-angle lens to capture this moment and set the camera into burst mode. A polarization filter might help with reflection.

Travel Information

You have to park your vehicle at the marked parking lot and walk the rest (it doesn't take too long, but it was a bumpy gravel path when I visited a few years ago.) This might have changed in the meantime.
