Iceland Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon
Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon in Iceland is a stunning, less crowded alternative to the famous Jökulsárlón Lagoon. It’s located at the foot of the Vatnajökull Glacier. The lagoon features floating icebergs of various sizes, and the surrounding landscapes include dramatic mountains and glaciers. It offers great opportunities for photography, with its surreal, ever-changing ice formations. Visitors can also take boat tours to get closer to the icebergs. It's a peaceful, breathtaking spot in Iceland’s wilderness.
Photography Tips
To photograph Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, capture the contrast between the vibrant blue icebergs and the dark waters. Use a wide-angle lens to include the vastness of the scene, and shoot during golden hour for soft, dramatic lighting. A polarizing filter will help reduce glare and enhance the ice’s color. For a long exposure, smooth the water and create a dreamy effect with the ice. Get close-ups of ice details and reflections, and include surrounding mountains for a sense of scale. For details of the ice bring a telephoto lens.
