This glacier view is spectacular with the ice crevasse and as well the front of the glacier with a small iceberg on a mud lake (in summer) or frozen (winter).

Photography Tips

All typical nature photographer lenses are good here. Wide angle for a large view of the glacier and when going close to shore in summer, some foreground iceberg blocks. But telephoto is good for isolating some ice peaks and the blue of the ice.

Travel Information

The place is very close to the N1 main road. Yet the small (bumpy) track to get there can easily be missed. When coming from the West, the track is after Skaftafell Visitor Center Road just after a bridge on the left. better go there with a 4x4 due to the track state.
