The Fjallsárlón Glacier lagoon is close to the very famous Jökulsárlón but is less known and has not been visited. It's worth stopping here since the lagoon is smaller, and you get a better view of the glacier!

Photography Tips

Be aware of the nearby National Park boundaries when flying your drone. The beginning and middle of the lagoon are not in the national park. Therefore, this lagoon is a great option for flying your drone.

Travel Information

A big parking lot is nearby, and a restaurant offers delicious food! When I visited the last time in winter 2024, the parking was free of charge. Traveling in Iceland can be tricky, especially in winter when the roads are icy. Inspect carefully and check local websites for weather conditions and road closures.
