Iceland Viewpoint on Skaftafell Glacier
Skaftafell is one of the first large glaciers on Iceland's southern route. It is particularly famous for the nearby Svartifoss waterfall. However, many people skip the viewpoint on the glacier as they simply don't know it, so there is always a good chance that you will be alone here.
Photography Tips
Use a telephoto lens to bring the glacier beneath you closer to the person in the picture.
Travel Information
From the marked parking lot, the hiking trail leads along the glacier for around 3 kilometers at an altitude of around 230 meters up to the viewpoint. Be aware of the wind speeds, which can make the ascent very difficult and dangerous.
