The Sveinstindur hut is one of a network of iconic huts in the Icelandic highlands. Settled next to moss green hills, mountains and black sand deserts, this is a true gem of a hut.

To showcase the surroundings better, this spot a bit further away from the hut is perfect. In dependency on the tides and waterlevel this place can look differently. It's especially interesting as the water is low.

Travel Information

The hut is a frequently used hut for hikers who cross the highlands. However, it is also accessible by a 4x4 car. Please be advised to have a proper jeep when going there since the rivers can be quite deep.
