This spot directly at Snæfellsnesvegur (road 54) offers a great view towards Kirkjufell in the west of Iceland. It's great to get a beautiful reflection of the mountain in the water with a stone breakwater if the water level is low.

Photography Tips

Try to get here during a calm day and use an ND filter to soften the water and clouds. A polarized can help to get even more details in the water but it will obviously decrease the strength of the reflection.

Travel Information

You can park at the Kirkjufellsfoss Parking Lot and walk south around the lake.
