India Ganges River at Varanasi
Varanasi has at least 84 ghats, most of which are used for bathing by pilgrims and spiritually significant Hindu puja ceremony, while a few are used exclusively as Hindu cremation sites The spiritual capital of India, it is the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and Jainism. Varanasi has been a cultural center of North India for several thousand years, and is closely associated with the Ganges.

The shores are so active there are hundreds of pictures. Stay for nightfall. You can rent a boat to take shots back onto the shore. Medium telephoto and a longer lens to get shore shots.
Travel Information
Chaos - you cannot get to the river very easily - local taxi or staying at a hotel on the river are best bets. The city is very old and basically ally ways to the river.
