India Jal Mahal, Jaipur

Jal Mahal was built at the mid-1700s by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh as a lodge for himself and his entourage when they visited during the duck hunting season. It was extended in the 1800s by his son and extensively restored in the early 2000s after years of being abandoned.
It’s made of red sandstone and has 4 stories that are permanently under water. The amount of the structure visible today still depends on the seasonally fluctuating water level of the lake.

Depending on location and time, a tripod is useful. Mostly a small telephoto lens.

The lighting is turned off at 22:00.

There are plenty of locations that offer great views of the palace. The waterfront beside the lake is very accessible. Its on the way between the Pink City and the Amber Fort.

There are good views from the road which runs across the top of the hill above that part of the city (mind the peacocks, there are lots of them). The rooftop and some of the rooms in the Regenta Central also offers great views.
