India Taj Mahal, The Mosque

The famous Taj Mahal is one of the most visited places in the whole world. This stunning tomb is one of a kind and well worth the visit. It´s an awe-inspiring place.

Since this place gets crowded very fast, make sure to rush to the Mosque. Even though it is closed (since 2024) for visitors, you can get to the end of the Mosque with a side arm which is still open. Not many people get there, so you can create some super exciting compositions with your ultra wide angle (14-16mm is advised).
Occasionally, someone "accidentally" spills their drinking water in a convenient place. Very quickly, a queue will form. If you put your phone or camera on the edge of the puddle...

Getting here is quite simple. You need to get to the city of Agra and then get yourself a hotel / guesthouse. If you want to be sure to be alone in the Taj, you need to be at the Eastern gate at least 1 hour prior to sunrise. The gates will open 30 minutes before sunrise. Make sure to only bring your camera and nothing more (except a water and a small pouch). Please be advised to get the tickets online prior to arrival and get your forenoon spot.
