India Sidi Saiyyed Mosque,
The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, AKA Sidi Saiyyid ni Jali, was built by Sidi Sayyad, a nobleman, in 1572–73. It is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad, but probably also the most modest, when viewed from a distance. It is situated in a garden on a traffic island. The 10 stone lattice panels show the skill of the artists engaged in the construction of the mosque.
Photography Tips
You might find that shooting the panels from around the back of the building gives better results.
Travel Information
It’s a traffic island; taxis and tuktuk drivers generally stop in front of the mosque – mind the traffic.
