Indonesia Sekumpul, Fiji & Hidden Waterfalls

One of the best groups of beautiful waterfalls in Bali, consisting of the most popular Sekumpul waterfall, with Fiji waterfall and a smaller hidden waterfall in the same valley closely located together.

The best spot would be Sekumpul waterfall with the most compositions you can find, followed by Fiji. The hidden waterfall has fewer compositions and a lot of mists so I did not get near it as I cannot stop wiping my lens from the mist.

CPL, ND filters and several microfiber lens cloths is a must as with any waterfalls.

The waterfalls are best to be visited very early in the morning so you can be done photographing it by around 9 AM as the crowd will start to gather and block your composition.

Arriving the night before would be best and I highly recommend Sekumpul Bed and Breakfast, owned by Kadek (+6282237283164). As of 2019, the BnB has 6 clean and comfortable rooms at dirt-cheap prices, including coffee, pancakes and eggs for breakfast.

Take the night in, and make sure you ask Kadek or his wife to prepare breakfast by 6 AM and book a guide to leave by 6.30 AM. The guide will take you to the waterfall parking by motorcycle and then trek with you to all the waterfalls, It will usually begin with Fiji, Sekumpul and hidden one last. The guide fee is cheap at around EUR20 for a group. Beware of taking guides outside Sekumpul BnB as they may try to charge you 200-300 rupiahs, per person + entrance fees. Be clear of prices before leaving.

Unless you're spending a few days in the BnB, do not attempt to walk down to the falls yourself as it will take you up to an hour trekking one way of some very steep terrains and stairs which will exhaust you.
