Indonesia Wae Rebo Village, Flores - Indonesia
Wae Rebo Village is one of those places where you can have an authentic cultural experience. This village might be one of the last remaining places that is beautiful and hasn’t yet become overrun with tourism.
Wae Rebo Village is located on Flores Island, Indonesia. You might be familiar with the island if you know about the legendary Komodos, as Flores is the starting point to see the rare dragons in Komodo National Park. The Wae Rebo villagers are descendants of the Modo Tribe who defend the tradition and culture from generation to generation. They even won UNESCO recognition for the conservation of culture heritage in 2012.

Travel Information
It was very difficult to gather information about going to Wae Rebo Village on our own. We found it challenging to get information from local guides in Labuan Bajo, and when we asked about directions for the shorter route, the guides gave very vague information (most likely because they haven’t visited themselves, or because they went by car using the longer route).
When I searched for information online, I also came up with conflicting information. No blog presented any helpful maps, which is why I’m determined to share the information here and save you unnecessary hours on a motorbike!
