Ireland Dingle Peninsula--Fishing in the fog

Most people want to shoot landscapes with beautiful skies, sunrises and sunsets. However, in real world Ireland MUCH of the time fog plays a major role. These fishermen were fishing in the fog, because there is more fog than sunshine at the end of the Dingle Peninsula. The flute player sits on the side of the road in the drizzle hoping that tourists will tip enough for a pint or two later that evening. The seagulls are appreciative.

Always bring a tripod. The fog eliminates the concern about dealing with bright contrasts.

These shots were taken along the R 559 highway if you can actually call it a highway: more of a road. Plan on taking a full day to drive around the peninsula right before or after you spend a day or two driving around the Ring of Kerry.
