Ireland SS Crete Boom Ballina, County Mayo
Britain was struggling after the end of the 1st world war with the shortage of steel and they started to produce boats made of concrete. They found that it nearly doubled the construction cost so it was scrapped. This is one of these ships lodged in the River Mayo just out of Ballina
