Ireland Portmagee from Skellig Visitor Center

The little Irish village of Portmagee is situated directly at the Ring of Kerry and starting point for travel to the Skellig Michael islands which belong to the UNESCO world heritage. Moreover, the village is a charming place with a very nice waterfront.

Photography Tips

Bring a tripod for long-time exposures. As it is always quite windy, try to hide behind the Visitor Center to avoid blurring of the pictures.

Travel Information

Since the Visitor Center is closed at night you need to park at the big parking lot on the opposite side of the river and walk across the bridge.
There is a little gate that will also be closed but easy to open.
