Ireland Connemara Coast from Knock, Inishbofin, CO. Galway
Inishbofin is seven miles off the coast of Cleggan, Co. Galway. A 20 Euro round -trip ferry ride and the ferry makes three trips a day. This is as far west as you can go and still be in Ireland. You can walk or rent a bike and travel the island. Much of Inishbofin has not changed for a hundred years. The road in this shot is Inishbofin's answer to I 5! Not many cars and this is the wide part of the road. Some of it is paved.
Photography Tips
I can be cold and windy but there are many places to shoot. Rain gear is a good idea. Oliver Cromwell's merry men built a fortification on Inishbofin known as Cromwell's Barracks. Lots of shooting opportunity there.
Travel Information
From Galway head north to Cleggan. The ferry runs three round trips a day. There are three hotels and several restaurants and pubs. As with all of Ireland, the people are GREAT! You can walk or rent a bike and go wherever you please. A great place to spend a day or two.
