Italy View over Bergamo Citta Alta from San Vigilio
The upper city of Bergamo, Città alta, is the older part of the city which lies on a hill and is surrounded by old venetian walls from the 17th century. The upper city is an open museum by itself that offers many amazing photographic experiences but the citty is better viewed from the upper hill of San Vigilio.
Photography Tips
Get here before sunset with the Funiculare which is located near the entrance by the city wall. The end station has a balcony from which you will need a tripod if you wish to stay a big longer to capture Bergamo Citta Alta by night. I may add another tip, if you do not mind a nice walk, do not take the Funiculare back but rather take the Via San Vigilio all the way down (45.7085254 9.6523218), you will have a beautiful pov all along the cobbled road. Word of caution: the Italian cyclists can get lethal, also when they are cycling on the way uphill!
