Seceda (2.519m) is definitely one of the most beautiful and most impressive mountains in the region of South Tyrol because of its unique shape, which looks like the earth was split in half and pushed beyond.

This viewpoint is one of the nearest which is perfect for modern photographer selfies because you can stand on that cliff in the middle of the frame.

Photography Tips

If you want to take a selfie, you need somebody else who takes the photo, because it's quite far away and you need around 1 minute from the photo spot to the spot to stand if you run.

For sunrise / sunset photos, you need to camp at the top or get a cabin, because the cable car is closing at 5:30 pm and you won't be able to get down there during the night with an estimated walk of around 4-5 hours.

If you don't want to have people in your photo (which is usually not a problem up there) and can't stay over night you might want to get there during the afternoon or early morning when the first or last cable car is available.

Travel Information

You need to leave your car at Sankt Ulrich and get up there with 2 separate cable cars. Both for up and down costs 30 Euros + 8 Euros for parking. You can also walk one or both parts of the way up/down but this takes quite a while. I would suggest to travel up and down and hike more at the alp itself.

Hiking around this place is quite exhausting, so be prepared and have enough water with you + sturdy shoes + sun protection!

South Tyrol was among my plans for this holiday with the family but war and other staff made in impossible. Instead I will be tavelling to Slovenia. I am just checking locations. Unformtunately I lost my account here (stopped using my email) and had to create a new one. Anyway - great pictures Manuel.

Slovenia is crazy beautiful as well. Was so surprised by this country when I did a long road trip from Germany to Montenegro. Lost account: You can always write me a mail. If you had bookmarks in your old account you can still sign in with it and change the mail address. Let me know if you need help and have a great time with your family in Slovenia!

It's definitely totally amazing to be up there, especially when the weather changes a lot like on the day when I was there with rainbows, birds that are flying above you and beautiful deep clouds touching the mountain.

yes, now I can see them, I think they are mountain crows, they tend to dance in circles. Thanks for the upload!

Is it possible to sleep in tent upthere?
Manuel Becker Team
Manuel Becker 06.09.2018
I saw a few photos from photographers that slept up there. So I would say yes, just don't sleep at the cliffs since these photos are definitely arranged... ;-) It's possible, maybe you can find some details if it's allowed or not. Wish you a great time up there!
