  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
This is one of the most beautiful and iconic locations in the italian Dolomites. The mountain is called Seceda with an altitude of 2500m above sealevel. The peaks in the background are the "Geislergruppe".

Photography Tips

You should be there very early or in the evening for the best light. Unfortunetaly we were a little late (around 9 a.m.), but this view is worth to get there no matter what daytime.

Travel Information

You can sleep nearby in one of the alpine huts, or you can take the Seceda Cable Car from St. Ulrich to the top. Or you can hike up there. But be sure of weather conditions and watch the forecast.
There are no huts at the top of Seceda where you can stay overnight.
One of the nearest possibilities is to book a room at Fermeda hut which is located about 1km lower.
But even from there it is an 1h hike to get up to this photospot (which might be quite early if you plan to shoot sunrise at Seceda). For sunset there is a good alternative: get up there a little bit earlier using the Fermeda chairlift (usually runs until 16:30) to save the 1h hike to the top and hike down after the sunset (as there will be no more chailift running at that time).

Focal length? Hiked far from the cable car to reach the spot?

Thanks, yeah it was spectacular but unfortunately, the weather was bad most of the days I was there.
