Italy San Gimignano in the blue hour
Phantastic view on San Gimignano, the so called "Manhattan of the medieval" just outside of the old town. Unique like Venice. Get there early in the morning of late in the afternoon, as during the day it is a tourist hell. Best have at least one night there to enjoy the medieal town in quiet.
Photography Tips
For that shot get to that spot at sunrise to have the yellow light coming from behind illuminating the scenery with warm morning light or late for blue hour. The sun sets right behind the town, but the mountains around are high so maybe its not that often with red sunset light and so the towers are in shadow. Thats why I decided for the blue hour which was tricky enough as the sky was still very bright.
Travel Information
I guess you can get to San Gimignano by public transport, but its way easier by car. To get to the spot follow the Strada Communale di Santa Lucia just a few hundred meters outside San Gimignano. I left the car lit with blinking warning lights at the edge of the road, should be safe. There is a vineyard ther now where you can fix your gorille pod if you dont hav a regular tripod with you (a high one, the olive trees in front are already big)
