Italy The main nave of St. Paul in front of the walls
Saint Paul in front of the walls (Italian San Paolo fuori le mura, Latin ecclesia Sancti Pauli extra muros) is one of the Pope Basilicas of Rome.
It lies between today's Via Ostiense and the Tiber and is therefore often called Basilica Ostiense.
Since the conclusion of the Lateran Treaties, it has been an extraterritorial possession of the Holy See and one of the seven pilgrim churches of Rome.
Personally, I find that the Church is underestimated. It finds no or very little meaning in two travel guides that we had, wrongly as the picture shows!
