Salento the southest part of the Puglia region, and the eastest part of Italy, where the radio catches Albanian tunes, Salento is also the cheerfullest and feast-prone area of Italy, where party isn't just for youngsters, here even elderlies don't sleep much during the summer, infact, the amount of "sagre" among July and August is incredible, the sound of Taranta overwhelming, the most important one is Sagra di Santa Domenica, when the villages erect the "Luminarie", incredible structures made of colorfull lights, as big as buildings.

Travel Information
Drive all the way down the Adritic Coast and get to beautifull Lecce, there you'll be in Salento, where Luminarie can be found in many villages, but the "capitol" of Luminarie is the village of Scorrano.
