Italy Riva Lunga Old Piers
This unique spot - located in Northeast Italy - is the site of old pier ruins in the small coastal village of Riva Lunga, which now is just a set of abandoned wooden poles that used to hold it up. The pier is a spot known to attract photographers wishing to capture the eerie but beautiful scene in one image.
Photography Tips
Due to sun position, best at sunset in winter or mid-season. Any lense from 24mm to 100-135mm is suitable to shoot beautiful sunsets. You should encounter migratory and resident birds flying over Canale Quarantia (the sea stretch you can see in the pictures). In this case long focal lengths are suggested.
Travel Information
You can drive until where the public road ends (see Cappella on Map). Here you will find a small parking area. From here onwards you have to walk 10-15 minutes on the straight paved road going to the sea (Riva Lunga). This road is closed to vehicles by a bar but it's open to pedestrians.
