Italy Boccadasse, Genoa
Boccadasse is a beautiful old mariners village in the southeast of Genoa with lots of colourful buildings that are typical for this region near the famous Cinque Terre in Italy. This photo spot offers a great view of the buildings with rocks as a nice foreground element.
Photography Tips
Having a polarizer and ND filters can help when you want to get some details below the surface of the water while taking a long exposure to soften the water. This helps to get a bit less structure and details in the water and therefore get more attention to the colourful village itself.
It can also help to align the camera with the horizon to have perfectly straight buildings in your photo. If that's not the case you can usually fix it quite easily in Lightroom or Photoshop.

Travel Information
Boccadasse lies at the eastern end of the main promenade of Genoa in Italy. If you are there during the evening it's usually quite easy to get a parking spot right at the promenade and walk the last 2 minutes down to the photo spot. There are stairs directly near the houses when you come from the west.
