Italy Abandoned Complex - Centrale Elletrica Santa Caterina

The Santa Caterina power plant is a significant monument of industrial archaeology in the Sulcis region of Sardinia. Operational from 1939 to 1963, it played a crucial role in the area's industrialization and supplied electricity to Cagliari during World War II. After its closure in 1965, parts of the plant were used for experimental research in the 1980s before being completely abandoned. Notable features include the control room with its command panels. Currently, the site is fenced off and usually inaccessible. I marked the place, where the fence is opened. It's right in front of the small parking area and right of the gate.

Bring a fast wide angle lens, as well as some others, a tripod and torches as it will be very dark in some parts. I do not tell all the entrances to access all the buildings, as it is part of the adventure, right? :)

It's is very easy to access. Park your car, where I marked it, go right of the gate and you'll find the entrance. From here, the whole area is accessible.
Wear long trousers and good shoes!!! There's sharp stones, glass, metal all around and it is very easy to get injured. Inside the main building take always care, where you go, so always also keep an eye on the ground.
