The Colosseum is an oval amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. It situated just east of the Roman Forum. Construction began under the emperor Vespasian in AD 72, and was completed in AD 80 under his successor and heir Titus

Get there early hours of the morning or at night to avoid the multitudes of tourists you can expect any time of the year.
From this point, the pillars near the Arch of Titus are still in the picture.

Travel Information

Do a tour of the palatine hill.

There are a lot of bus stations nearby, but you can also take a walk from the center of the city to the Colosseum.
You can either get there by Metro (Station "Colosseo") or by foot.
